Founder &

Clinical Director 

Dr. Kandis McLean, FAWHONN, DNP, FNP-C, MSN-Ed, RNC-OB, RNC-MNN, C-EFM, CHSE, NEA-BC, serves as Founder and Clinical Director of SAGE Initiative.

​

A nationally respected maternal health leader, educator, simulation specialist, and healthcare executive, Dr. McLean has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for mothers, newborns, and families. Her expertise spans maternal-newborn nursing, advanced practice nursing, nursing education, simulation-based learning, workforce development, quality improvement, patient safety, and healthcare leadership.

Through S.A.G.E Initiatives, Dr. McLean provides the clinical vision that drives all educational programming, simulation activities, and maternal safety initiatives. Her commitment to evidence-based practice and healthcare excellence serves as the foundation for the organization's mission to reduce preventable maternal morbidity and mortality.

Dr. McLean believes that every healthcare professional deserves access to high-quality maternal safety education and every mother deserves safe, equitable, evidence-based maternal care practices through education of obstetrical teams.

Executive Director & Administrator

Omar Blagrove, MBA, serves as Executive Director and Administrative Lead of SAGE Initiative.

A healthcare administrator and organizational leader, Omar brings extensive experience in healthcare operations, workforce development, educational program management, strategic planning, community engagement, and quality improvement. His career has focused on building systems that strengthen healthcare organizations, support professional growth, and improve patient outcomes.

​

As Executive Director, Omar is responsible for translating clinical vision into sustainable programs and measurable impact. He oversees organizational operations, strategic partnerships, program implementation, fundraising support, community engagement, and outcomes management.

His leadership ensures that SAGE's mission is supported by the infrastructure, resources, and partnerships necessary to create lasting change.
